Who We Are

As a 3rd generation Sonoma County native and Healdsburg local, Carrie has a great appreciation for the Wine Country. After completing her B.S. in Economics from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, she worked for notable real estate developer, Hines Interests, in San Francisco. While on the acquisitions and development team she focused on the landmark Salesforce Tower & Transbay Transit Center design and entitlements process. She later joined the Hines construction management team as a project coordinator for the one million square foot VMware Software campus project in Palo Alto. Concurrently, she completed a program in Sustainable Design and Construction from UC Berkeley and earned her LEED AP credentials for the Building, Design & Construction specialty.

In 2014, she joined Blu Homes, Inc. and moved to Napa Valley where she met her Husband, a local Winemaker. Putting her construction background and passion for green building to use as a salesperson for Northern California, she quickly became Blu Homes top achieving salesperson nationwide. Her love for helping families build their dream homes using an innovative product and process was apparent, she was promoted to Sr. Director of Sales for the company in 2017. As the Sr. Director of Sales, Carrie was responsible for managing the sales team, overseeing new product design, finish material specifications, and ensuring the customer experience was second to none in the home building industry.

Carrie and her Husband moved back to her hometown of Sonoma County to be near family in 2016. They have two sons and enjoy hiking at Lake Sonoma and biking through Dry Creek Valley in their free time.

Raised in Sebastopol, Sarah graduated from SSU with a degree in Photography. After trying out a career path as a business owner and event photography, she went back to school for interior design. While back in school she asked a local design build construction company for an internship. She took on working part time at the construction company taking on more and more responsibilities, all while back in school and working her then full time job. Eventually Sarah was asked to come on full time and helped establish not only the design team but forms and processes, as well as setting up the showroom. After the 2017 fires Sarah felt there wasn't a better time to explore and grow in other positions in the industry with the high demand for rebuilding. Ending up at another design build company, doing material selections throughout the interior and exterior of multi-million dollar fire-rebuilds as well as designing some of the homes from the ground up.

Now at Sonoma Hill Builders, Sarah is working with co-workers, vendors and subcontractors from her past companies so she is able to jump right in and help the team. Working in the industry since 2013, she has become a valuable member to her team with her flexibility to step in and get things done. Specializing in assisting clients with design and selections as well as following details from pre-construction to installation on the project. Sarah is devoted to the client experience and is passionate about finding ways to save money too.

Sarah is a proud "Choice Mom" to 6 babies, 5 of the four legged furry variety and spends her free time doing projects around her house and enjoying quality family time.

Thomas Ahern has deep roots in Sonoma County. His family has called Healdsburg home for the past four generations.

Thomas started building in 1998, building high-end custom homes and hotels on the Mendocino coast. He moved back home to Sonoma County in 2010 to be a superintendent for a local contractor specializing in whole home extensive remodelling and light commercial projects including the Children’s Museum of Sonoma County.

In 2014, he joined Leff Construction Design/Build as a superintendent where he continued to hone his skills in leading a team working on high-end homes and building them to the highest standard of quality. He enjoys problem-solving, working on a team and leading by example to create something personal and lasting for the customer. Always keeping the client first, Thomas has an exceptional eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a clear communication style, which ensures an exceptional customer experience.

Thomas lives in Windsor, California with his wife and three children. In his free time, he enjoys golfing and taking his family to Giants and 49er games.

Jose Camara has been in the construction industry for 10 years. He has been building high-end custom homes since the day he began. He found out early that his passion for construction was doing high-end finish work. Jose doesn’t settle for mediocrity, and he strives to impress each client with his exceptional carpentry skills. Being on budget and producing a superb finish product is the only end that is acceptable to Jose. Sonoma Hill Builders is lucky to have a Foreman with his capabilities.

In his free time, Jose likes to play soccer, mountain bike and spend time with his wife and 2 children.

Pascual Vargas is a seasoned Foreman who has been working in construction for 16 years. His first 6 years consisted of building high-end custom homes in Sonoma County. Pascual has always been very interested in all aspects of construction. He decided to go to work in the plumbing industry for 2 years to get experience and increase his versatility.He took the experience he gained in the plumbing trade and went back into building high-end custom homes. He has been a Foreman for the last4 years running a crew and coordinating with clients and subcontractors.Everybody enjoys working with Pascual. He is courteous, intelligent, fun to be around and extremely effective at what he does. Every client that he works for feels very lucky to have him on the team.

Pascual enjoys nature immensely. You will often find him in his free time at the beach or at the river enjoying Sonoma County’s beautiful scenery.
He is a proud father of 4 children, and he has been married to his wife for 20 years.
